As of April 2 or soon thereafter, Nathan Hale Inn
(the designated hotel on campus) may be full when one tries to reserve a room.
If one faces that situation, then there are few options:
1.
One may call Nathan Hale Inn at 860-427-7888 or send an E-mail to Nathan
Hale Inn <info@nathanhaleinn.com>
directly enquiring availability of rooms. Reserve a room directly, if available.
Please note that per night room rate, if available, may be more than the
conference rate.
2.
Check back with Nathan Hale Inn at some later date. One may get lucky if
there is a cancellation. Obviously, there is no guarantee of success with this
approach.
3.
Rooms at the Residence Hall are available. As long as rooms are available
at the Residence Hall, one may reserve accommodation by revisiting on-line
registration with one’s E-mail address and password.
4.
One may go to an off-campus hotel. Some choices are given below. One may
call them and/or visit the web-sites for information. These are located in
nearby towns. Please note that the conference organizers do not necessarily
stand by these hotels in any sense. One may make a reservation at one’s own
free will in one of these or in other available nearby hotels. One may also
“Google” for more choices.
These hotels (not listed in any particular order) are
certainly not within walking distance of the conference site at the University
of Connecticut-Storrs. One will need a car to come and go. The conference does
not provide transportation between these or any other hotels from surrounding
towns and the conference site at the University of Connecticut-Storrs.

Two types of accommodations will be available, both exclusively on a first-come-first-serve basis. Each participant will make reservations through the Internet. Please click on the link below:
It will take you to the on-line registration site. The piece on accommodation comes up as a step within on-line registration.
Hotel:
Nathan Hale Inn on campus will cost $111 plus all applicable taxes per night for
a room with 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds.
NOTE The hotel rooms are going fast. Please reserve your accommodation at the campus hotel as soon as possible |
Dorm: A room in a
modernized south campus dorm (2 minutes walk from Nathan Hale Inn) will cost as
follows. Single: $52.50 per person per night. Double:
$38.75 per person per night. All applicable taxes are included.
Other hotels or motels may be available, but they are at least 15-20
minutes (by car) away from the campus located in towns such as East Hartford,
Manchester, Mansfield, Vernon, and Willimantic. The conference services will not
provide transportation between those hotels/motels and the campus. A
participant, if interested, may wish to “Google”
and explore possibilities.
Once on campus by car, one may park the car in the South Garage (maximum charge: $6.00 per day).
If
one opts for a dorm room, one will park his/her car in "S" lot (behind
the Rome building). The cost is $3.00 per day per
vehicle Monday-Friday. No cost for parking (other than garages) on the weekends.
The rate may change next year!
Need More Info on a Dorm Room?
A “single” room has 1 single bed, and a “double” room as 2 single beds. In most cases, when a “single” room is chosen, there are two beds in the room, but only one of them is made up with linen. The rooms that we have requested all have air conditioning and are made up before the guests arrive. While the guests are there, there is no cleaning service and guests are on their own. If there is something that they need, there is a 24-hour Conference Housing desk that they can call. The contact information is included in a folder in every room. The rooms are set up suite style with up to 4 people per suite (2 people per room if they are both doubles). There is a bathroom and a common room located between the two bedrooms.
