Are Unsolicited Paper Presentations
Possible?
- The IISA Conference's technical program is being put
together by the members of the "Program Committee" and the
"Local Organizing Committee."
- Apart from two plenary lectures
and six specially named lectures, the
conference will also host a large number of invited
paper sessions that will run parallel to each other.
- The conference will accommodate only
invited paper sessions.
- By looking at the number of members in the "Program
Committee," it is doubtful whether the conference will be able to
accommodate any additional paper session outside of those that have been in
the planning.
- Anyone who has not been invited by a member of the program
committee may be included in the conference program. There is a chance, but
on the other hand, we cannot say "yes" or "no" right now
to anyone's request.
- The key point is this: A colleague who is keenly interested
in presenting a paper would first register and submit
title/abstract, all electronically, on or
before the deadline March 30, 2008. Earlier one
does that, the better chance one would have to present a paper in an
invited session that may be put together after March 30, 2008. A fully paid
registration and title/abstract received electronically from anyone not on
the "list" will automatically alert the local organizers. That
way, one will be counted in.
- Sorry, the local organizing committee cannot maintain a
"waiting list".
- If one's only desire is to participate and not present a
paper in any session, then one can certainly do that at any time as long as
one registers.
