An Overview:
The University of Connecticut-Storrs campus is located in a picturesque rural setting that is very typical in New England. Please feel free to visit www.uconn.edu for more information at any time. The campus is located within approximately an hour's drive to University of Massachusetts at Amherst or Yale University in New Haven or Brown University in Providence. We are also located within approximately 1.5 hour's drive to Harvard University or MIT in Cambridge.
The
host of this conference is the Department of Statistics that is located on
the third floor of the CLAS building at
the
University of Connecticut-Storrs campus.
More information about this department's research, teaching, and service
related programs, among other details, can be viewed on its website, http://www.stat.uconn.edu/home/.
The conference venue will be elsewhere at the University of Connecticut-Storrs campus, that is the venue itself will not be the CLAS building. The precise location regarding the conference venue will be passed on when the time is right.
A large majority of the participants will arrive preferably by the midday or in the early afternoon of Thursday, May 22, 2008. A reception will be held for all registered participants and registered companions that same evening. Registration packet materials will be made available at the reception in the Nathan Hale Inn.
The
opening ceremony will be held early in the morning on Friday, May 23, 2008
that will be immediately followed by the first plenary lecture. We hope to
finish all technical sessions by 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 25, 2008.
The end of May can be a truly fantastic time to visit Connecticut and other parts of the New England. We hope to have some great weather during the conference. The weather may be on the warmer side with some chance of drizzle.
Every participant must be registered.
Each invited paper session will include 3 speakers.
